Nah that “Hope it rains soon” for Charizard was dirty man.
For context: their pre-evolution, charmander, dies when the flame on their tail goes out. And, in a fairly popular episode of the 1st Pokemon anime, an abandoned charmander is seen holding a leaf above its tail in the rain to shield it from the water. So basically they told Charizard “Hope you die”
