I had two great uncles that were truckers for over 40 years they have both claimed to see the dog. And they both knew it was time to pull over.

I'm not a trucker, but I know what it's like trying to make it to your destination when you're tired late at night and trying to do it in good time. The mixture of the hypnosis from the road and the sleepiness, along with the urge to keep going is flirting with death. One second you're locked in on the road, then in the amount of time that feels like a blink, you're drifting over out of your lane and almost going off the road. The panic from catching yourself helps wake you up for a good 30 seconds, then it back to the same old game of seeing how far you can go.

The black dog would be seen by not just truckers but anyone who has been on the road too long

I saw it for years with a job that had me driving to all 48 states on the continent. Had black dog dreams even three years after changing to a local job

My fiancée and I are truckers. Shes driven far longer days than me and the other night when she saw this movie for the 1st time it frightened her because she's seen a black dog on the road before. Black lab, never came at her, but a black dog nevertheless. Ive driven some long days myself but never saw it.

My dad saw the dog a lot. He used to run off Paper Logs when he first started and he had to make 5 runs to Montana and back. Well on the 8th night he saw it. He only got 3 hours of sleep and he saw it darting towards his truck. He didn’t stop till he got to a safe place and he slept for 10 hours and he saw the dog a few other times but that’s for another time

I’ve seen the “dog”. Was running night shift hauling aggregate and had that drowsy feeling then I suddenly saw lights but nothing was there didn’t wreck or anything but it sure woke me up

I know it's just a movie, and I love this movie myself, but there's definitely no part of I-75 that looks like a two-lane State Route going through the countryside.. LOL
