Thanks job done today in under an hour - hardest part was finding the XZN#6 bit. As others pointed out, on the replacement lock then need to clip the spring into the hook on the lever you transfer the outer door wire too. That spring is solely there for the purpose of installing the lock and first time you open then it resets to how it is supplied and how the one you take out looks. Just don't do any test pulls of that wire until it's on the handle ;-) Wait until the door skin and the handle is on, then (with door still open) you can test you've got it right before you close.

Great illustration. All of the doors on my VW Touareg have issues. One can not open until you press the door inward. You will then hear a soft click noise and the door will open. I think the locks are all worn out or something.

I can't open my doors from outside during last winter, almost everytime whenever it was minus degrees outside.
If the weather hit 0-1 degress i was able to open the doors from outside.
Im intrested to buy new parts but my questions is:
Does VW Passat B6 Variant (3C5) 2007 have the same lock replacement like here in tutorial?

What is the torque setting for the 2 screws holding the door lock?

If you follow this video then you are missing out an important procedure and your door handle won’t operate properly. You need to reset the spring in the carrier, which enables the door handle to return to its right position - the spring on the locking mechanism isn’t intended for this and you handle will forever be loose and unreliable. Look up a video on how the carrier mechanism works to understand how to reset it, and release it when the lock is re-installed.
