3 Quick CNC Projects

In today's CNC project video we show you 3 quick projects that you can knock out in a couple of weekends in the shop.

1. The first project is a shop clock made from laminated maple and walnut. The numbers and logo were carved out using the Astra Coated 30 degree v-bit part# 425-CR30.005. To cut the clock out of the maple/walnut panel we used an Astra Coated 1/4" Down Cut 2FL Spiral Bit Part# 420-DNC250.

2. The second project we built was a piece of wall art and a nice picture frame to hang it on the wall. The tree design was cut out using our Astra Coated 30 degree v-bit part# 425-CR30.005.

3. The final CNC project isn't a complete project but rather a tip on how you can make your shop drawer fronts look awesome! We began by roughing most of the material using an Astra Coated 1/8" Compression Bit Part # 425-CM125.
Next we switched to the Astra Coated 30 degree v-bit part# 425-CR30.005 to carve out the finer details.

Oh wow!!! Why didn't I think of this (maple over walnut)! This doesn't need paint and solves the problem of trying to paint inside the cut and have to deal with bleeding and such! Thanks!!

Just a quick question: why not just cut the hole for the mechanism with the CNC?

Just came across this video. I don't see many people using a 30 degree bit so was cool to see. I was curious if you have seen the Amazing Grace signs with the lyrics and music notes in background. Most ppl use a 60 degree but I am curious if you think 30 degree would be better for the details.

Why did you not orientate the numbers so that was hanging on the wall there are all facing the right way like the 8765r all should've been switched so that they're readable the sixth looks like a 97 and eight definitely and five look up side down

Great projects and very well explained. What are you using to mask off the areas that you don't want to get paint on?

Good efforts.... But I must mention you really don't need to do these things the way you make.... The objects you made can be done very easily without carpentry work.... Eg... No need to make seperate frame for photo, no need to stick two different sheets just to see different color in clock numbers.. All these jobs can go in one...
