I preferred the randomized selection (AKA just having kids naturally). I have 2 girls that I wouldn't trade for anyone else. I don't know their genetic "score", but they're the 2 God decided to give me, and I'm always grateful for them. I couldn't have picked better.

It sounds like there were a lot more than 26 embryos. One of them said " we had 26 good to go, but we did a whole new round just to do this..." They discaoyhe first batch of 26 because they didn't "have data on them, " then created a whole new batch of embryos that had been tested. The original 26 babies were rejected simply because they hadn't had their genome tested! I feel sick listening to these 3 talk about them like they're shopping for furniture.

Believe it or not most fertility doctors offer this “service”. My husband and I had trouble conceiving and our fertility doctor told us that embryo selection is a “normal” part of the IVF process if we wanted to make sure we had viable embryos (or choose the sex). We were appalled and declined. We never ended up having children, but at least we didn’t participate in the eugenics side of IVF.

This was one of the pressing questions I had a few years back after talking with several women in my Bible study group who used IVF to have children. I was careful not to rush to judgement but to listen to their stories of their personal struggles with infertility...what I gathered is most clinics tell women they must make several embryos to increase the probability of a successful pregnancy. However, it didn't take long for me to gather that the additional embryos are either disposed, donated or used in various medical experiments if not wanted by the parents. It was shocking that all these sisters in Christ were not bothered by this unethical practice or how it was very unbiblical. I'm glad that others are exposing this too.

You can think you can play God. This child has no guarantee that he will be a kind and moral human being. With the morals the parents have, I would not bet on it.

This is an evil disgusting practice- what kind of egomaniac do you have to be to score and discard your own children so that you can bring up your “titan” just think of the future this kid has in front of him, it’s all about the parents need to have the ‘perfect’ child. This kind of pride and ego is what is leading to the destruction of humanity.

Yes!!! I have been thinking about this recently esp when it came out Paris Hilton discarded 25 healthy male embryos looking for a girl 😢and it hit me if they knew it was male then it was implanted and fertilized. This is so unethical!!! Industry is evil!

I have 4 kids all have adhd and one w autism and I wouldn’t trade them for ANYTHING.

They’re awesome kids and my autistic child whom was deemed moderate to severe is now considered high functioning and is a music and artistic genius who is very expressive and loving and FUNNY. Most people now can’t even tell. He’s never had therapy just a hardworking stay at home mom and present father who helped him succeed and lots of prayer

As for my adhd kiddos they’ve succeeded in homeschooling and have improved much better in their studies and improved in writing and in math because they can do it their way. Their adhd is not a hi derange the way the world makes it out to be. Sometimes they struggle but nearly as much as they did in school

Again, I wouldn’t trade them for ANYTHING!

If they discard the rest of the embryos is horrible, but my fear is they won't. Probably without the knowledge of the parents, they will develop these babies in the lab and use the organs and tissues for God knows what 😮😢💔and perform all kinds of experiments!!!

This is sickening and unfortunately, we can’t discuss any ethical issues about this topic with others who have no ethical morals about this topic. What is there to discuss? We think those embryos are people, they do not.

Why is natural IVF never discussed? I was born 33 years ago via natural IVF. There are no stimulating drugs used and no risk of multiples. The woman's natural cycle is monitered and once she releases an egg it is harvested and fertilized and placed back into the uterus in hope for successful implantation. It is actually a very common type of IVF especially when there is male infertility involved such as the case as with my own mother. 50% of all infertility is male and that number is rising.


I think if we are going to have an honest discussion I think we need to include all the good that comes with ivf.

This is not 100%happening with every couple who seeks IVF. In fact for infertile Christian couples sometimes take years to make a decision regarding IVF. Yes there's unethical things happening in this industry but only when you have gone through infertility yourself you may have a better understanding of why couples seek assited reproductive treatments. This road is often very lonely and shameful.
