As so many of you watching are no doubt either fans of Nigel Saunders YouTube channel @TheBonsaiZone, or should be, I too want to create my own Larch Forest. Larch trees are not readily available in my area, so I found an on-line merchant selling North American Larch saplings. These came as bare-rooted, 2 year old saplings. I have 10 in total which have been growing in pots since I got them in 2018 (I think). In this video, I prune them up to tight conical trees in preparation for a forest planting this spring. I’m very excited to get them growing in a group planting.

Timely video Steve. I have an identical project on tap for next spring. I’ve also grown mine from bare rooted whips. You mentioned Candice and Nigel, both excellent resources for information and inspiration. I’m really looking forward to watching this develop into the future. Thanks, keep growing

I’m curious what grow zone you’re located in. I’m 6b SW Connecticut. Good luck with your forest.
