For this digital post-production assignment, I centered my work around two main topics: physical repetition and lettering distortion. For the repetition I worked with masks, creating a mask that followed the shape of my body. It was a very tricky thing to do because after effects does not recognize complex shapes with different polygonal compositions. I had to go through every single frame of the video which if I’m being honest is not very large but still has over 40 different frames. Once I had my masks done, I played with the positioning and delay of the masks to create this effect of a series of copies of my body following the real me, if you will. The lettering distortion was made using different effects under the distortion tab: Violent displacement and CC Flo Motion, the frame with the organic shapes that appears around the end of the video was designed on illustrator and then inserted into after effects.
