I love Randy's voice. I hear this song and am reminded of my first love, the love of my life. We met in 1977 at age 13. He lived out of town and we saw each other off and on over the years. The last time I saw him was Christmas 1982 before he broke up with me. I never forgot him and tried to find him several times. Fast forward to 2011, we reconnected and have been married 11 years. He tells me he should've never left.

Just watched the History of Country Music. It made me remember some of the great country singers who, sadly, are no longer in the limelight.

This single was released in early November of 1985 and it peaked at #6 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles Chart and this is the single that caused everyone to take note of this rising star. His next single, On The Other Hand (which failed to chart the first time peaking at #67) would be released on April 21, 1986 and would go to #1 making Randy Travis a house hold name and bringing Country Music back to its roots.

Got his start as a dishwasher singing in a Nashville restaurant. Hard times and good times. Always keep that good attitude no matter what happens.
