Watch and Find Out Which Fuzz Pedal is Best!

The first Big Muff style pedal I bought was this Way Huge Swollen Pickle MKii. Now, I did not bond with this pedal initially, as I found it to be a bit harsh, and it did not sound much like a traditional "muff" to me. Eventually, I got my hands on an EHX Big Muff Ramshead Nano and this pedal was a real turning point for me.

Having left the Swollen Pickle in a box, tucked away safely, I decided to compare and contrast the two pedals. The results are rather staggering, and I thought to turn on my camera and share the finding with you all.

I'm a Stringjoy artist, and play their set of Broadways on all my Electric guitars.
I play the 10/13.5/17/28/38/50 on all my Gibson and Epiphone. I play the 9.5/13/16/26/36/48 on my Strat and Telecaster.

I had the pickle- it’s great but was always fiddling trying to match muff sounds.
If you want a muff - get the reissue with the flavour you love. If you want flexibility to create new and original fuzz get the pickle 👍

I love how easy it is to get a great sound from the Rams Head, but the Swollen Pickle does have so much versatility.

Didn't Anderston's just do a fuzz video and this green fuzz came out on top?

I have the Big Muff Ram's Head, and I love this pedal, for me it has the ideal tone. With my AC15 it sounds great. With an Octave pedal (Sub 'N' Up) before, you can still get other tones like Big Muff Green Russian and other crazy sounds.

Nice playing and comparison. Big Muff suits my ears better, but both are winners.

The Pickle reminds me of some of the fast cars I used to be around.

I mean you can get the Swollen Pickle to sound like any of of them. Just make sure to adjust the internal controls.

Big muff sounds vintage.
Swollen pickle sounds modern.
Maybe you can let the BM sound like a SP if you cut the mids with an EQ, and you can turn the scoop to the left on the SP to make it sound like a BM.

What's the weezer song btw?
