Gear 5 Luffy was tanking attacks from Kaido and Kizaru. I think it was very telling that Zoro told Luffy to gtfo the way as soon as Scopper used a "serious" attack.

You should have mentioned that in the ancient art of Elbaph there was a Dragon on top of the tree (I would assume that's Adam tree). If the history is repeating itself then I would say a dragon would hatch from that egg that Roger found on Laugh tale, and this dragon would be a part of the next great war. Maybe that's why Scopper was in Elbaph, protecting the Dragon. Maybe that dragon is living on top of Adam tree.

All I know is that the old Roger pirates have got to be living up to their dreams or following their goals and destiny's in one way or another. Because they all look great. Oda let us know when the character falls off of the path of their dream by their design falling off... Every Roger pirate looks amazing almost exactly like they did when they were sailing with Roger. That tells me that they are a part of some plan.

Oden was actually not a "Roger Pirate" he was a "White Beard Pirate" that got leased to Gold D. Roger to enable them translate Poneglyphs and find Laugh Tale. Oden (and retainers IZO, KIN etc) had a 10 year Carreer as a pirate with WB as his captain but only a few months with Roger on their last Journey to find the OnePiece. Saying Oden is a Roger Pirate is akin of saying Kinemon and Momonosuke are strawhats due to them being in Dressrossa :D

One issue I always have with ideas like „Roger put them at these strategic positions in the world to help the joy Boy that is to come in 20 years“ is that Gol D. is getting drawn more and more like Luffy, and let’s be honest, the most our Box would contribute to such a plan would be „lets do this thing!“ and the crew are left with making the high iq stuff work 😅

I think the reason why Roger, Rayleigh and Gaban got so strong was because the amount of years they spent on sea plus god knows how many fights they got into
That would certainly help them develop their haki more effectively, like Luffy didn't perfect observation haki until he 1v1 katakuri
I believe they also took a 1yr long break aswell similar to the strawhat pirates, then again I maybe wrong
