How to Adjust the Flush Water Level on a dual flush Toilet
This video shows you how to adjust the flush water level on a dual modern flush toilet. This is for toilets without the traditional ball and valve system which are on the older models. The water level on these modem toilets are general set quite low and in turn don't give a particularly good flushing action which in turn could cause blockages.
This particular toilet was purchased from the Bathstore and the model is Soho, its given me constant issues where it gets blocked and after a few searches on the web I found a forum where many people had the same complaint as me regarding this toilet. I thought I'd give this toilet one final try before we bin it. Fingers crossed it works!

We moved into this house just over a year ago. Since then we’ve had the water company out 4 times to unblock a drain blocked with toilet paper. This is totally due to a poor flush in this design of toilet. Having seen you video and examined our cistern. Can now see that we’re only getting 50% of the potential water flush even on long flush mode! I’ll carefully adjust the lower ring now I can see where the catch is (right at the back in a slim cistern). The other issue which I hate is whoever installed the toilet only a few years ago never bothered to put a shut off valve in the cold feed! Thanks to your video I hope we can avoid any more call outs by the water board due to poor flow and a very shallow fall on the party drain. Thanks for the video it’s really very helpful.

Thanks for the video. I lived with a weak toilet for many years and meddled with it countless times. I never knew that that were 2 adjustment points. In my toilet, the post extends telescopically when u twist it. The extra 5cm of water really increased the flushing power

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We recently replaced three cisterns with this diabolical system, and the plumber left all three significantly under flushing. I had no idea that the latch existed - and that the whole mechanism could be lifted. As someone else advised in these comments, I found the stubby end of an Allan key to be the perfect tool to slide the latch to the 'open' position - and from there adjusting the water level was a breeze. I increased the flush by approx 2 liters and voila - no more double and triple flushing.

Thank you this video has helped a lot. I too was about to replace the toilet.. The fiddly clip is difficult to get to with a slim cistern, but eventually the clip did move anticlockwise. No more blockages, which resulted in tenants trying to unblock and dislodging the waste at the back of the toiled after using brute force with a coat hanger wire resulting in a pretty unpleasant flood. No more double flushes!

Going to check that adjustment before I go to homedepot and buy a Cadet toilet. This has to be the worlds most loathed bowl. (Total Rant Edited out!) Thanks for the video and may your flushes and days be filled with blessings.

Yes. It is very poorly designed to adjust the water level. I don't why companies do this....
I couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Thank you for the tip!

Great video. I just bought a toilet and I noticed that the over flow tube is much lower in the toilet so this limits the amount of water that can be put in the toilet. This toilet modification which was done by manufacturers to save water does not work. If the toilet has to be flushed 2 or three times to flush the waste away no water is saved. In fact more water is being used. Your toilet may not have that problem but you did show how to adjust the water level valve that is similar to mine so thanks for that.

@GeekStreet
NOTE: you are missing the plastic hose that goes from nozzle just below blue cap on water filler, it connects into verticle "open vertical pvc tube" for 2 button flush unit.

ALSO: The correct gasket to use is made by KORKY (( model #404, dual-flush
seal kit)).

I never had problems with the 2 button flush or toilet itself since we bought it in 2013. I had a Sterling @ previous home for a decade, no issues (owned & made by Kohler now.... great toilet actually) & in new house 2013, have an AquaSource 2 button toilet. Only the rubber gasket not sealing correct, so leaks & constantly adding ounce of water every 3 minutes... so finally fixing it.
