Is the Saudi Arabia-Iran rapprochement good for the region and bring greater security, or does it strengthen Iran's standing? Should hopes of Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords be put on ice, and what does it mean for Israel? And what about the broker of the deal: China?

All these questions and more are discussed by our panelists Jason Greenblatt, a former advisor to former President Trump and a key player in the building of the Abraham Accords, and Abdulla Aljenaid, a geopolitical analyst in Bahrain.

Persian & Arabs lived in this region with each others for ever, until European countries, US & Israel arrived. There is no love lost left between people in this region and US. We love to see the back of US ASAP.
Loved Abdullah, he talks the truth & knows that the we had enough of US harmful, adventures & destabilizing policies in this region. But, no war, no more money for US military industries 🤪

Very interesting perspective on what may be some of the factors influencing Saudi Arabia's decision, thanks!

restoring diplomatic relations between iran and saudi arabia is a step forward for the GLOBAl Peace and security. ISRAEL and Palestine should come forward to settle the dispute with the help of US and China.

Excellent and informative.Biden’s distance from Saudi Arabia and Israel contributed to this Saudi move.Big question is will Iran behave better?I don’t think so.Saudi Arabia doesn’t need or want relations with Israel. They’re just protecting themselves.Smart.Again, Israel is on their own primarily because of Biden.Israel knows U.A.E. and Morocco are too far away and weak to help Israel in face of Iranian aggression even if they wanted to.In a twisted way I like Iran. The regime hates Israel and Jews and says so in words and actions. The U.S. says they will back Israel but won’t.

Iran did just "forgive" over 20, 000 protesters. The situation between SA & Iran is similar to Ukraine & Russia in the placement of a nuclear threat on the border, across the water in SA's case. "Containment" also refers to the Persian Gulf. Israel expanding into UAE, Baharain, in terms of tourism, trade is the new competitor. Dragging the USA along with them? The Silk Road, the Belt/Bridge initiative, the Digital Silk Road & BRICS add up to an economic and energy revolution moving away from the West toward China as the "governor" controlling trade, finance, energy and leaving it to the regional parties to defend themselves in internal battles. SA's tentative agreement is more of a message to the Fed: we'd rather invest in Yuan, at least the timing of the announcement of the agreement, no English, no USD, the same day SVB with its Chinese investments failed, is more than coincidental. China saw the writing on the wall in California, and they had a solution ready. Meanwhile, Yellen, et al. are scrambling to get their stories straight.

If Jason Greenblatt is right, perhaps China will mediate a settlement in Nablus & Jenin. If China can end "pay for slay" in the PA, that would be helpful, more so IMO than building or destroying houses. Abdulla Aljenaid said that Iraq & Syria are top priorities for Iran, is this a reference to natural gas & oil? Kick the US out of the area and ensure that Iraqi & Syrian oil flows freely to Asia? What affect will this new réapprochment have on Syria? I imagine strengthening of the Assad government, so it might push opposition groups out, but where? To Lebanon? To Gaza? To Samaria? Will China invest in rebuilding Aleppo?

Saudi Arabia just announced purchase of Boeing planes, the deal is huge. So, Saudi Arabia will not just walk away from US, US has nothing to worry about.

As all Muslim countries want to have peace for a change.. They hope to see their people doing well, no reason why they should threaten the peace by having non stop war with Israel..

It means a whole goodness for the Muslim world and friends... spiritually and financially... atleast Muslims understand that the Kalima Shahada is supreme and important... differences within...is a house problem...all households have differences... households cook the same food differently...but use similar basic spices.. Islam the fundamental beliefs are same in all sects.. that's what we need understand...

A role model performance for the Middle East. But keep China out of the equation, even though China worked to make this happen.
