My heart goes out to men that go out, to serve their country, protect others, and come back beyond broken in the process.

Crying is the bodies physical reaction to releasing trauma.... it's a beautiful thing when you've been there... it's love

our government takes advantage of a genuine American hero like this man. This man has seen and done things most of us could never imagine. I wish he never had to experience that but i thank him for it.

Remember to thank a veteran… living with these memories is rarely done successfully. Thank you for your service. We appreciate all of your sacrifice

Our veterans should never have to worry about a home, a job, healthcare, anything. They give us their all and then some and deserve as much back. Bless you Mr. Irving and I wish happiness and healing for you.

He asked if he was crying too much. If a man can't cry about something like this, what can he cry about? It doesn't make him less brave. It makes him human. God bless him and keep him.

Growing up I had a neighbor who was a veteran. He absolutely hated the 4th of July because he would get such awful PTSD. He would drink to try to numb his pain then when the fireworks went off he would relive his worst nightmares. It got to a point where his wife eventually bought a cabin off grid, so every 4th of July weekend they would stay in the cabin for a week or two.
I remember because my dad would always make me mow their lawn while they were gone. And as a teenager it annoyed the heck out of me until my dad told me the reasoning for it. I felt like such a brat after finding out why.

You can tell he’s reliving those dark moments as he’s telling the story. You can see it in his eyes.

Every time he rubs his hands I feel worse for him. What a hero and a great person. You can just tell how nice and humble he is.

There are no words. This man has seen too much. And we will never be able to pay him back for what he has done for us. Bless him.

" And I knew, I was like... hurt....after that" hit hard. The moment you realize your psyche has suffered irreparable damage is horrifying.

"I'm not crying too much, am I?" sir. every tear you have shed and ever will is always justified. You went through literal hell for us. You get to cry. You get to deal with this in your own way. You deserve this country to support you and show you the appreciation that you truly deserve. Thank you and your brothers for what you have gave my family and I. You are a true American hero. Thank you.
