How to Prevent Art Theft

Better to be safe than sorry! Here's some simple ways to prevent Art Theft of your personal art, as well artwork you produce for others through commissions!

that moment when you add a watermark/signature on a character's leg, so the thief just try to color it with a red brush and say that the character is "bleeding"

I don't even need to protect my art. My art is too unpopular to be stolen. Hah!

Since I am a very unpopular I think I might be an easier target for art theft because no one will really know the original source. It’s not like that’s going to happen anyway but if it did it would break my heart cuz every thing I draw I just have a very special connection with.

everybody should add watermarks! a lot of people repost for the fun of it and gets lots of views (they still have no identity cuz they share others art that people likes but will never recognize those pages that dedicates to do that, their followers are 'ghosts' who only follow just to get more stuff to watch on the media) and we find gorgeous art but cannot find the artist because there is no watermark... thanks to watermarks I been able to find amazing artists who I can follow, so please do add them, you will never know when your art piece will get reposted

What happens when your art get stolen(you're not popular enough so no one knows the original art work) and the one who stole it removed the watermark and made it better that'll just be depressing ngl

Ah thank you^^! I haven't got my art stolen yet... but I have back in grade 7 it wasn't online it was in real life :/ he took drawings out of my sketch book with out my permission. He should my drawings to teachers and the principal and didn't credit me! And they actually believe him! So dose this advice that you said will this work for IRL art thefts to?
