Start simple and work your way up. Diving is something EVERY soccer goalie is expected to do, but it takes YEARS of practice to get it right.

On this camp day we took a variety of young and old, beginner and well trained goalkeepers through a diving session.

1. Goalkeeper Distribution Passing Warm-Up
2. Soccer Goalie Diving Drills: Proper diving shape, step to get body behind the ball, and ball to absorb the impact with the ground.
Stationary service from the knees - Ball in goalkeeper's hand
Service from the knees - Timing of the first step. Head and hands to the ball. Bent elbows
Stationary Ball from the feet to help the goalkeeper learn to fall.
Services from the feet to developing timing and goalkeeper diving technique. Under hand service.
Volley service.
3. Introduction of 3 goal situation. Stationary or underhand services to help reinforce the proper diving technique.
Start from the front post angle.
Second ball in front of the goal. Get set early. Balanced ready position to control body and ball.
4. Goalkeeper angle drill. Better angle and ready position makes more saves.
Start small and build layers as the goalkeeper starts to have success as well as develop control of their body and ball.
Work your way up to those high flying, shot stopping saves!

1 thing I think you need to work on as a coach is engaging all the goalkeepers, in this video when the goalkeepers are listening to you or watching the other keepers they’re very disengaged
