Ogedai's death as the reason the mongols retreated is most likely false, in fact there is almost no way they would have been able to receive the news before they started leaving.

That is one theory of why they stopped the invasion

Nice video but I am afraid it was at the year 1241 was when Ogedei Khan died and then The Mongol general Batu retreated back to Karakorum to elect a new leader which was Mongke Khan also Guyuk Khan doesn't count because Guyuk only reined for 2 years. Mongke Khan took over the throne at the year 1251 until his death in 1259 from Song China, Also, Mongolia was not divided into four independent Khanates until the year 1264, so it's a fine video, just not perfect, tho. Edit: Ariq Boke was supposed to be a new Great Khan for Mongolia, but Kublai stole the title of "Great Khan" by killing his own brother, so the unification for Mongolia ended only for another 33 years after Genghis Khan death in 1227. The Yuan Dynasty fell in 1368, which is when the Hongwu Emperor of the Ming dynasty decided to take back Dadu and renamed it to Beijing.

This is a myth. Hungary and Poland with their German allies were able to repulse the Mongols who's request for submission were rebuffed. They even attempted to invade again and failed taking heavy casualties compared to the Hungarians. Europe was a lot better suited for defeating the Mongols than Central Asia, the Russian principalities and China. As was Eygpt, Japan and Vietnam. The Mongols were far from unstoppable in reality.

These were the Huns, the Turkic-speaking peoples. Hungarians have a lot of Turkic words. In fact, this territory continues to be inhabited by Turkic-speaking peoples of about 150 million.

Not RUSSIAN, but Rus'. There is a big difference. It's like calling Prussian (germans) as Russians

Poor Hungary got invaded by Turks and Mongols, both armed to the teeth with elite horse archers.
-Immigration of Turks into the kingdom of Hungary, taking it over and making it theirs, expunging all locals of the kingdom and putting Turks there.
-Mongol invasion which massacred their population and some made more than that on the way.

The one that effected Hungary the most tho was the Turks immigration into it, changed they’re language forever, so much so that Europeans consider Hungarian an alien language, but in reality it’s a Turk language from medieval times.

Imagine how great of a nation the Russians and eastern Slavs could’ve been without this.
