#CBEContheweb | Covid Vaccine Boosters – The Data and the Dilemma
Показать описание
Event date: Friday, October 08, 2021
With many developed nations supporting the cause for booster shots that will enhance prolonged immunity against the disease, the current debate is now centered on the ethics of these shots. This is particularly relevant against the backdrop of global health inequities. Africa, for instance, has received only 2% of the more than 5.7 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses administered globally, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) chief, Tedros Ghebreyesus.
In this session, we bring together a panel of four experts who will discuss the scientific and ethical debates surrounding Covid-19 vaccine boosters.
Beginning with a discussion on the science of booster shots, the session will then focus on the variety of ways that booster shots may create further health inequalities, globally and within Pakistan that will impact on the access and availability of the vaccine for vulnerable individuals, including children.
This session is organized in collaboration with Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases Society (MMIDSP), Pakistan.
