I agree that composing for film and composing songs are different realms. It makes sense. But there are a lot of films that use popular songs in the soundtrack. I'm wondering what are Ben's thoughts about that, and things he might take into consideration when using songs as the soundtrack.

Great advice about learning. You don't necessarily need to pay for it, but it could provide you opportunities you wouldn't otherwise get...I think that if you want it bad enough you'll figure out a way to learn it.
