Chi Nu | Chained Beast or Absolute Garbage?

The Japanese found that they didn’t have a effective counter measure against the M4 Sherman and Other allied tanks so they wanted to build a tank which could go toe to toe with the allied tanks, This tank was supposed to be the Type 4 Chi To, which was supposed to be the successor of the Chi-Ha tank but his research and development took longer then expected, so they needed a temporary replacement which eventually became the Chi Nu, The Chi Nu was the last design based Directly on the Type 97 lineage, Almost at the 1000 subs, pkease subscribe if you haven't already!

It is interesting that 30mm and 50mm armour thicknesses cropped up again. It seems from some sources that 30mm was considered good against heavy machine guns (we are talking .50 cal and the like) and 50mm was considered good vs 20mm cannon (mostly AA guns used against ground targets but also the 20mm anti-tank rifles), but those sources are at best secondary and hazy on the source.

It would have been a good tank, but the Japanese would never have been in a position to build or deploy enough to make a difference

Little to indicate it wouldn't have fared poorly. It would have faced later model shermans, comets, perhsing and centurion when it was no match for the first shermans and matilta2s could reliably knock them out.
