I saw one guy commenting...."I traced it so it's a fair use" 😂 talk about height of ignorance

If someone says they're a "designer" and they copy other designs, they're not a designer.

If you’re offended, then it’s probably because I’m talking about you. Sorry for the rant but it has to be said.

Toei's website says "we do not grant individuals permission to use any character images"

there is no "right way" to do this. no official licencing available.

Robert, I'm following you only because I saw your comment in one of Shanboody's videos. That you were going to go hard to grow your channel. I'm in the same boat. I really love watching people grow and become successful. I love to support. Big ups.

I actually don’t know anything about selling merchandise but I had any idea today involving anime characters. Your video popped up and I found it very informative and helpful. So, it’s not bad that you’re somewhat repeating some of your other video content. I appreciate your rational and straightforward approach. I care about doing things the right way and so I’m looking forward to learning more from your other material. Subscribed!

How do you go about reaching out to the originator? Like where do u get the information to contact them?

Thank you so much for this I am already aware of the copyright issues, so I don’t even try to parody. I make my own designs, and I am so tired of these E-commerce people stealing designs from other people and telling people that it is okay to do so. I work for USPS and made a T-shirt store based on every day things that happen at work as a joke because people in my field get it. On the side, I also make prints of whatever is going on in my head; again all original. I don’t make that much on those things but for me, it’s about working on the art itself. Real artists get it. And, e-commerce thieves just exploit it. I’m tired of it.

Watches the whole video, I appreciate the advice but still left with a little confusion. Where or how could I obtain copyrights for naruto images? Ive been doing research and can never find a solid answer or solution

Does Toei actually give people permission to use their characters? Because it looks heavily implied on their site that they are very selective about that.

I've had copyright strikes on original art based on characters from various IP's. I just go ok, and move on, or try to think of ways around that. The problem is the content indy artist produce is often times better than the content we're actually given. The way IP laws work though it's hard for people to pop off on their own original content alone, so you have to play to the trends. People want a Goku shirt, not a fat pudgy not goku shirt (no offense). Some print on demand shops are actually licemsed to print with different IPs so if you want to make real fan art with real characters that already exist, those avenues are there.

Most designers charge 150 and up per design so if I’m starting out and need like 5 designs I need that 750 just on designs? I shouldn’t find images recreate them and add on? So like my line may be dealing with like birds so I may go find images of birds change this change that and come up with a design on my own, just what to know what I can and can’t do

In the case of Jonhy Cupcakes...couldn't it be considered copyright infringement also? He is clearly using elements from Disney characters, for example...but then i guess it wouldn't be a parody otherwise. I'm not trying to criticize here, i'm just trying to figure things out myself. Fanart seems to be a no go, but the "law" seems a bit more foggy on things like parodies or crossovers...
