We Need a New Age Chyawanprash | Business | Sarthak Ahuja
Показать описание
There’s one (almost monopoly) product in India which needs to be disrupted by newer brands... and should be easy to do...
We need a modern version of Chyawanprash!
With such a growing market in fitness, general wellness and supplements... the problem for most new supplements is creating awareness...
However, the Chyawanprash has such a deep awareness in India homes as an immunity booster, that the only reason for its lack of growth or appeal is the form factor.
I avoid it at home is because the taste and texture both seem unappealing, but I’m all for the benefits.
And I kid you not, it’s a Rs 1500 crore market in India with 60% market share with Dabur, followed by Baidyanath and Patanjali.
Himalaya sells Chyawanprash tablets... but there’s barely any spend on promoting it... and the form factor that Gen Z loves is Gummies.
And given the amount of sugar Chyawanprash already has, one shouldn’t complain about a spoon or so going in the gummies itself.
This should hopefully expand the market to a great degree and bring in the adoption by more family members... as you might have a promoter of the product in every third family if not more.
Again, promote through social media to a younger crowd... even if it’s the Millennials and not Gen Z.
Would you buy Chyawanprash gummies if they were cool again?
