What happened to Mary Magdalene? Well, Mary was a significant follower of Jesus. We know that in Luke chapter 8, she's the woman who's going to have seven demons cast out of her. After that, she becomes a committed follower, disciple of Jesus Christ. She's there even at his crucifixion. And then she's one of the very first people to visit his tomb on Resurrection Sunday. In fact, she meets Jesus. And Jesus then commands her to go and tell the disciples, which would make Mary Magdalene the very first person to preach the gospel or preach the resurrection of Jesus to anyone. The Bible doesn't say anything about Mary's passing, but church tradition holds that she would go on to become a companion to St. John, that they would work together fulfilling the gospel and bringing the gospel to Ephesus. Years later, St. Gregory of Tours would record that Mary Magdalene did pass away and was buried in Ephesus.
