I feel it spider-Gwen doesn't really reduce the impact of the night Gwen Stacy died because she's not the same Gwen Stacy. After all the sum of our experiences make up so much of who we are.

it'd be like saying Flash point Batman reduces the impact of the death of the Waynes.

I like the hoodie costume way better. That dress thing, the trenchcoat and the long hair is WAY too impractical to fight villains with and is too easy to connect with the civilian Gwen Stacy, plus the hoodie costume makes her stand out and it just looks way better.
I haven't read any Spider-Gwen comics yet (I'm planning to very soon) but I'm glad she exists because she seems really fucking cool and man we need more female superheroes that aren't just plot devices or never get their own comic book/movie

I totally prefer the hoodie version but what can I say, I have a thing for hoodies in general, also I love Spider-Gwen, I like the idea of the character and her story and also Matt Murdock as the Kingpins assistant in her reality it's an amazing twist.

I'd watch the heck out of a film with Gwen's SpiderWoman, especially seeing how Peter slowly gets desperate, becomes the Lizard, and dies in her arms.

I think the first design for Spider-Gwen would have had a greeter impact on the character of Spider-man (Peter) as it would have reminded him of the event of Gwen's death. However I think the newer design had a greater impact on fans (or at least on me) because it was not just Gwen in a spiderman costume but her own unique design with mainly her own colour scheme with just a hint of familiar red webbing.

Great vid, as always interesting info presented in a really efficient and fun format. About the costume; I love both, but I think that the hoodie is better because it goes in a new direction from the spider-man we know. And just that help cement Gwen as character who deserves development.

Almost should use the red and blue costume as the 'home-made' version before she got her black and white hoodie going. Kinda how Peter had the sweat suit with a mask before getting his gear together.

Gwen is amazing they should make more comics about her make a movie and if Marvel loves it a lot they have enough money to make a tv show like they did with Luke Cage, Dare devil, Punisher, Jessica Jones and so on. Marvel can use this chance to have a big series make a lot of money and keep doing the comic books, Movies, Tv shows, and so on. Gwen Stacy is more then you're average girl she is an outstanding lady and should be treated like one. Although Marvel has a lot of filming and projects to still work on. Having a spider Gwen series will surely make marvel a lot of money. But to be honest the spider Gwen now looks better.

Man looking at the first concept design it would've made sense for the relation of Peters-Gwen. If Peter would see her like this it would hit him hard and not doubt believe this is Gwen, but she is not. This is Gwen from another universe.
Like Peter, design choices had to be made to move faster and be aerodynamic. Seeing the long coat would be an obvious choice to grab on or to pin down a character with fast agility. Boots wouldn't give her much grip compare to like sneakers when it comes to running and clinging to things. Runners/joggers would use thin shoes so one can can bend and use all the surface of the foot to move freely, even turning ones position faster with ease. Running with boots on a agility character is like running with block shoes since they are flat.
I could go on, its not a good choice for a webhead

I think I may have noticed a little something. I was just going to say I liked Gwen Stacy's design in Spectacular Spider-Man a lot as well as Spider Gwen, but looking at the two, they are kind of similar. The hoodie, the headband, the hair length, they all seem the same, except it's orange in Spectacular Spider-Man and black and white in Spider Gwen. Coincidence? Maybe, but it sure is interesting nonetheless.
