They do it because of their natural instinct, since house cats don't have to go outside and protect themselves and hunt they dont loose that much energy as they would outside so to get that energy out they just randomly start running and stop in a few seconds lol :D

What about the cats who are alone? .. Guess they have this conversation with themselves 😂.. Bcuz like clock work I’m in bed and it sounds like a 4 yr old child is running around my house. I come out and she’s doing 110mph around the house from the kitchen to the living room. Then sleeps all day because of that… &proceeds to do it all over again the next night 😂

My cat not only does her zoomies but she also go full on psycho talking to her toys like super super loud. You'd think she was dying but nope just casually yelling at her toys like they are animated objects. Also no matter how much I play with her, she still does her zoomies thing especially at night when the dogs are all asleep. We got two dogs that she doesn't like. She doesn't hate them but she's always showing who is boss and swats at them if they get too close. She's like the nasty celebrity cats version. It is funny cause she isn't hurting them but full on keep telling them to stay away lol.
