Glenn Hoddle, Roy Keane, Steven Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney. All world class careers, all good in first managerial job and all end up very bad managers. The further they come away from their playing career and the more they realise they wont reach same heights as a manager, the more love they lose for the game and more inability they have to motivate players to work hard. Continental world class players to world class managers (Pep, Conte, Deschamps, Zidane, Simeone, Ancelotti, Capello) have something extra the British don't have. I think it's the premier league is too pampered cause even world class foreigners who played in premier league become bad managers. Maybe Ruud will break the mould
