It’s an allegory for conflict. It will always exist, but we can reduce it over time by uniting and solving our differences. Notice how the boy approaching the tree has a dog with him. Compare that to Ymir entering the tree, who was being chased by dogs. Zeke explains how the titan curse came from Ymir’s desire for protection and the fear of death, so the new curse will be far less threatening than the titans.

Probably the most shocking part of this scene is just how fast she kills him. No talks or delays, just straight up goes and cuts his head without speaking a word to him. And the fact that he accepted it so calmly was even better.

There is a good theory about this. Remember that when Ymir found the hallucegenia she was in a state of hatred and dark emotions wanting to probably kill her oppressor. This can be said the reason why the behaviour for titans is to kill humans. Whereas, the final scene here, we can see a boy that does not seem to be in a dire situation. Probably this will create a different power not of destruction but maybe of healing and life.

Now the real question is, was Ymir the first one to discover the titan power or was there someone before her that had the power and was buried at the tree like Eren?

Eren did what he meant to do. Was create temporary peace for the rest of his friends Lifes. He delayed the human cycle and killing enough that his friends can live a somewhat peaceful life until they die. Then the cycle will start again.

That’s why Eren kept saying forget about me, forget about me, forget about me over and over and tried to make Mikasa hate him. He couldn’t stop the cycle, but he could at least give them a peaceful life until they died. Eren is like Thanos x 100.

That's why eren can't see that new boy in future cuz eren can see future through paths who are subject to Ymir... But that boy is not in the cycle that's why eren didn't see him in future..

I actually think the ending is way more optimistic. Look at the boy who entered at the end. It happened completely opposite to how Ymir entered it. Instead of dogs chasing, the boy had a friendly companion dog. He was not hurt, scared or near death. Just curious.

When he comes in contact with the worm thingy, it's likely he won't transform into something like a titan.

What I think is, is that Ymir wasn’t the first founder and that there is possibly hundreds of these things or wen the last inheriter dies a new tree is formed

I don’t know why people were mad at this ending. It’s a great lesson, realistic, and was executed so well.

This also implies that titans or something like them have existed since before Ymir

Also there are 139 AoT Episodes, the number 140 in Japan represents freedom, this represents how Eren will never truly be free even in death

Titans will probably not exist but another more powerful force will, Ymir became a titan because she wanted to become strong and powerful to protect herself from the bigger guys, this time the boy wants to protect himself from missiles, so imagine a power alot more powerful than that.

Would love a spinoff of AOT with new characters in a different era where the cycle continues. Except in a new era where they aren’t as OP and there are weapons and bombs that sort of work against them like how they showed the modernization of the world after Eren died.

It's literally a force of nature Ymir and her titans were just a manifestation of that power, there's no way to actually get rid of it whether you went with Eren or Zeke's plan

Alright, here's a correction. Ymir, she is desperate at that time because she wants to survive, that's why she created herself as a bigger and stronger human. You can even see the subtitles when zeke is talking about ymir, here's the sentence "so she created herself as a bigger and stronger human being". The all living thing doesn't give people the Titan power, but it gives the power what he/she wish for. In this case, Ymir makes herself as a titan. And so, the Titan cycle will not repeat unless that boy in the ending decided to wish to make himself as a Titan.

Well the power of the titans may or may not end but the cycle of violence never does end.

I do think technology at least did move forward even if there was a setback. We see the little kid wearing more modernized clothing and had more modern gear as opposed to Yimir who was more medieval style.

I think that yes, the cycle can never end but the decision lies on the boy and the dog to take the power back. The first episode is called “To you in 2000 years”, and I think that means that the whole series is Eren telling the boy what happened because of the titan powers. Eren is actually trying to convince the boy to not take the powers but, ultimately, the boy has to make the decision to take the power or leave it alone. That’s just my theory though hahaha.
