Roberta Flack introduced me to this song many years ago and I have never ceased to love it. Now, at age 74, it causes my heart to seize with something unspeakable when listening to Josh Groban sing it. I look across the hall at the man I married in April of 1968 and want to hold him in my heart and arms for all eternity. It also tempers the tears I have today as the Corona virus steals lovers from each other all over the world. It is beauty like this song and this singer that helps us endure. Thank you, Mr. Groban.

I sang this version at my best friends funeral last week…we’re both 53, friends from birth, cancer was too vicious, he fought bravely for 5 years before crossing over, and this was also the song playing as he died when I was holding his hand….it destroyed me, but he wanted it played during his funeral, and asked me to sing it (I use to be semi-professional)…..it was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. It’s so hard singing this touching song, when you’re literally crying the entire time…but I somehow made it all the way through, until the last note, when I just couldn’t hold back, and fell to pieces in front of everyone.he was the brother I never had, and loved him so deeply, it feels like my heart will never mend😰😰😰😰😰
