I'm new to Texas. I've been watching your channel for the past year and I didn't realized how much Texas has to offer! I came from Mississippi/Louisiana.

OHMYGOSH! I spent one fun and delicious afternoon at Benno's when I was 22.
Now, I'm 60, living in northern Michigan.
Great memories. 💜

Galveston is awesome! Great history, architecture, restaurants, vibe... And, the water is not always brown.

This is nuts. The last time I went to Galveston a couple of years ago, I more or less went to same places. This was great.

That Bishops house is the most lavish Victorian home I've ever seen. Incredible!
I would love to see it and the tall ship. Great episode over all Chet!

I grew up in Houston, and I love Galveston.
As a child, we camped overnight on West Beach in the 1950s.

There are great ghost tours and historical homes to tour.
I love going to Murdochs for souvenir shopping and eating ice cream.
Lots of cool shops on the Strand.

Gaido’s is my favorite restaurant to eat at whenever I go to Galveston. It’s so good, right on the Seawall, and has a classy atmosphere but is still family friendly. Moody Gardens was absolutely amazing! Just went last week and it was beautiful and so much to see.

I’m a 6 generation native Texan. I was born in Houston(1970) Spent most summers in Galveston. As I got older the rivers of central Texas called me! Then I started moving west into central Texas. Then, work moved me to deep east Texas! Then work moved me all the way into far west Texas! Wow! I found my people and my forever home! I’ve also been to south Texas, but never north Texas! As a native, I’m terrified of tornado alley! I’ve been in several crazy weather thingys in Texas and that’s why I call the place I’m in now, my forever home! No tornadoes or mosquitoes here, but luckily, still in Texas! God bless Texas!

Our water down here sure is ugly, but Galveston is fun!

This video is from June 2011. There is a brief moment of the menu at the "Shrimp n Stuff" restaurant he visits, and those prices are soooo much lower than today's prices. For example, tea was approximately $1.50 back then, but it is now more like $3.50.

Galveston is one of a kind, and has incredible history. I’ve been there to do disaster recovery and to visit the sights.

Gaido’s is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! Their bisque, red snapper Michael, and Parmesan tomatoes are sooo delicious! I dream about it and never leave Galveston without stopping to grab a couple quarts of bisque to take home!

We live in Houston. I take one day off in the summer and head down to the beach for a solo day of relaxing. Good food, ocean air….it’s always wonderful. ❤
