Hi. I'm Jennifer Durbin, and I've got some tips for you on what to request from a hotel before you arrive with your little one.

When you're booking a hotel online, you usually cannot select which room you'll get, so you may want to call the hotel ahead of time and just have them note on your reservation that you're traveling with a little one. That way, they may be sure to aside the right room for you.

You'll also want to let them know if you need things like a mini fridge or a crib in your room, and don't forget a crib sheet from home. That will make the baby feel more comfortable.

So the other things to keep in mind when picking a hotel is can you find an extended stay hotel to stay at? That way you'll have a little kitchenette where you can cook, eat, and have plenty of room for everyone to move around. Now if you can afford a suite with multiple bedrooms, have at it. That is fantastic. You'll have plenty of space for everyone to stretch out.

If not, don't forget some entertainment for yourself. The worst thing you can do is be stuck in a hotel room all night with the lights off and the baby sleeping, and nothing to do.

When you're leaving the hotel make sure to check every nook and cranny. You never know where little hands are going to hide something that you might want when you get home. So do a little planning, enjoy the trip and you will all have a wonderful time at your hotel.

If you want to ask for a specific room, take things into consideration, like where it is in relation to the elevator. Being near the elevator and the ice-maker can be really noisy. So if your child is a light sleeper, you want to stay towards the end of the hallway. If however, you've got a loud little one, it might be better to be closer to the ice-maker so you're not disturbing everyone else.

Also see if you can find a hotel that offers a free continental breakfast. That will give you everything you need to feed your little one; yogurt, fresh fruit, a banana to take for the road, or a little box of cereal.
