On IOS 16 there is no toggle button to switch on or or so on a home screen recording is visible. Do you have any solution for this ?

Is there still a “Show when run” option? I can’t find it. I don’t want the app showing up when I turn my phone on until I purposefully open the app. Can that be done?

The recording stops if you have anything else going on that is using voice for example if you’re trying to record a call while driving and you’re using the navigation as soon as the navigation app starts speaking directions, the voice recording stops.

Could you tell me which iOS you're using please Mr BBB? My iPhone looks slightly different, with no option to toggle "show when run", and "create recording" rather than "record a new voice memo". I thought I might be needing to update, which I did, but still looks exactly the same despite now being on iOS 16.2 on my 14 pro 🤔

The thing I don’t like about it is the noise when it starts and stops. So if you’re trying to record somebody who’s in close hearing proximity know that you’re secretly recording them or trying to anyway.

Honestly man I did everything you said and my voice memo app still cuts off saying that it can’t engage in recording during voice calls. Did Apple change this since you made this video?

Couldn’t find the gadget hack link in the description but have worked out how to do this on iPhone 12 Mini with up to date iOS.

Shortcuts > + at top right
Add Action > search for Record
Scroll down to Voice Memos > tap Create Recording
Give the recording a name (make it memorable or so that it stands out)
Press Done, top right.

Couldn’t find an option to hide the recording on screen.

Open Settings, go to
Accessibility > Touch
Scroll down to Back Tap
Select Double or Triple Tap
Scroll down to Shortcuts
Select whatever you called your shortcut (hopefully it’s something memorable)

Double or Triple tapping (whichever you chose) the back of the iPhone starts the recording.

Couple of notes
- you can’t tap through a case, you must tap the back of the iPhone itself. I tap on the gap around the camera lenses which works OK,
- although you only provided one name for recordings they are not overwritten. So a second recording just has a number after the name e.g. recording name is Evidence so first recorded Note is called ‘Evidence’, second recorded Note is called ‘Evidence 2’, etc.

If I find a way to stop the recording showing on screen and sounding when started, I’ll post here.

Ceases to work as soon as dial tone or phone is ringing. Says resume recording when end call. :/
