What is Edge Computing and its Impact on 5G?

Edge computing is vital for the advancement of 5G and IoT -- but why? And what is it? Watch to find out.

Edge computing refers to computing as close to the source of data as possible -- at the edge of a network -- instead of far away in the cloud or another data center. Edge computing is often compared to cloud computing; edge computing makes it so data has less distance to travel, and more places to travel to, while cloud computing involves data traveling longer distances to be processed in one central location.

Edge computing reduces response time and lag, conserves network resources, and enables 5G connectivity, among other benefits.

Background music is really annoying! We can't hear the speaker voice!

The backgroud music could have been more softer. It is distracting when listening to such an interesting topic.

Thanks a lot for sharing your insights on EDGE Computing, as the guys mentioned above, the background music does interfere with your voice, hope you can twitch your B.Music next time please :)

1. How does Edge Computing benefit my Organization?
> Reduces overall time to Analyze your Real-Time IoT Data Analytics, with specified (topologies) software platforms, IoT devices will be able to gather crucial data-informatics, instead of manually gathering data at the centralized cloud and analyzing it, which these days takes more time, efforts, man hour (per capital head) ... etc
2. What Edge devices to we rely on ?
> Examples of Edge devices would be routers, routing switches, integrated access devices, multiplexers, and a variety of metropolitan area network and wide area network access devices. Depending on the area specified by your encountered Edge ecosystem environment, you'll need to choose your devices wisely to set up the connection (always bare in mind, it is the cost reduction to a B2B2C environment (SMB or Enterprise, you name it) which you are targeting here)
