*Correction: In the vid I mention Purple Rain being originally in A but it's actually Bb.*
Over 4 Million people have viewed my intro guitar lesson and many of them went to my lesson site to learn more. After knowing a few chords the natural question is, "What songs can I play now?" Well, here are 21 to start with but once you know the pattern you can play hundreds. No lie.
Thanks :))

This was exactly what I was looking for. After getting my open chords down and learning to change between them I wanted something that can give me some variation and or something to actually play rather than just working through random changes. Awesome mix in here of stuff to work on in terms of rhythm and changing chord in time. Would love a video on the ones where you have given simplified versions to take them up to the next level.

Dude, this is the most comprehensive lesson I’ve seen yet. For a beginner guitarist like myself, this video clicked a lot of things into place. Good job.

It’s been said hundreds of times below but I have to add my thanks as well for an absolutely terrific guitar video lesson. Please keep them coming. Many thanks!

What am amazing teacher. I'm a beginner playing for a year or two. It's so crazy how every string in one chord, strummed differently or with different rhythms can be altered to play so many tunes. Crazier that a little time and patience each day can transform me from someone the neighbors used to curse at, to now them knocking on my door so I can play for them. Whoever is learning out there, keep practicing a little and know youll break through to another level. Thanks for the great tips and lessons

I've been playing a couple years and I have to say you are a good teacher, I wish I had found your content when I first started out.

I feel I've found gold. I had listened to other guitar channels but I felt they were all missing something and they cudn't hold me. Not so this channel, this is the one for me, it has spoken to me lol. I've been playing guitar for maybe two years now but my tuition was halted by covid lockdown so really I'm pretty much self taught and there is so much I don't know. I'm a grandma but I love music and I love playing guitar and your channel is where I'll be learning from now on in. Thank you!

Just started playing the guitar again after giving up two previous times, your videos are the best and makes me want to keep going. Simple instruction and easy pace! Thank you very much!!!

Man I wish I had this lesson a year ago. Learning these shapes, and the suspensions of these chords just by raising and dropping fingers, and moving the bass... so key to creating the pop sounds we all love so much. Awesome lesson!

Love your lessons, they have this easy-down to earth atmosphere which is relaxing and helps me to see what I do on my guitar in a refreshing way:)

It's pretty cool for you to keep it nice and basic. When I was starting out as a beginner I tried to learn when the man comes around by Johnny Cash, and it had a complicated pattern I could grasp. I didn't have an example of a basic version for me to play, got frustrated and stopped learning it :(

I'm glad that beginners can turn here and see a way for them to start off, and then a way to get better :)

I just bought a guitar after not playing for many years. This was a great refresher for me. Thank you!

Absolutely the best instructional video after having learned the basic core shapes, as it opens up a whole new world of the beginnings of individual lead playing within a cord progression. Thank you for your expounding upon the next step from strummed cords to arpeggio picking, a point in time that is explosive in the development of a persons creative individuality.

Love your channel Mike...songs us 40 somethings can relate to...I’ve finally decided to really work on playing well before I’m 50 (2 years) instead of being a so-so guy who can play the beginning of 200 songs 🤘🏻

Thank you for breaking it down, these are really the only chords I know so far, . When you make it so simple to learn it's hard to put my guitar down. Respect

thanks for this, after less than 2 mins you have shown me and i learned it and as the entire 21 song lesson is based on the 4 chords it means you learn all the differant strumming and plenty of fills as well, this is terrific. I seen some great guys taking forever to do anything at all and treating the viewer like an 8 month old child with adhd, ok a bit extreme but i'm sure alot of us numpty's can become much better much quicker and smile for the first time in decades, thanks i'm a follower buddy

Great video. I'm a drummer, but I'm also a wanna-be guitarist/big 80's guy and I appreciate all the videos I've seen of you playing the great solos of the 80's. Love this particular video and how you break down all these songs to the basic chords and make it simple for guitar beginners like me. I appreciate what you do. Please keep posting. Many, many thanks.
