'Now might be the only chance': Maddow exhorts Senate Democrats to act on Trump nominees

Rachel Maddow argues that with Donald Trump looking to install his Cabinet without background checks or even confirmation hearings, the best opportunity Americans may have for understanding who Trump is trying to appoint may be from Senate Democrats in the final days of their majority, as unconventional as that may be.

Rachel Maddow is so clear-eyed and insightful. She's an absolute star. She never indulges in empty fear-mongering so when she paints a dark picture it's a truthful one. Thanks Rachel for never giving up trying to get people informed.
However, I truly believe that the biggest obstical is the fact that a large majority of US citizens just don't possess the fundamental knowledge about the difference between a democracy and a dictatorship. I think that they believe the difference is nothing else than the difference between the democratic and republican party. They have never been, let alone lived outside of the USA; have thus only lived in a democracy; probably haven't even really been interested in finding out what's going on in and around the rest of the world nor how people in other countries are forced to live or what rights they do not have... Rights that Americans have and are apparently now willing to just throw away because of lies and ignorance!
It took Hitler less than 2 years of fake propaganda promises and lies in order to completely take over and turn Germany into a dictatorship. This resulted in Word War 2 and the division of Germany into 2 "halves" (one being able to stay democratic and other being given over to the Russian communist).
After that it took 50 years to finally reunite the 2 halves...
The American people should talk to those survivors (and also to people living in or coming from Russia, China, Iran, North Korea etc.).
Maybe afterwards they would widen their horizons and open their eyes so that they will finally be able to become aware of what their future is going to bring and how their lives are really going to be like...
This is a very dangerous time for the future of the whole world, and America is now becoming the largest danger.
