Sun damage follows you for a lifetime. Now that doesn’t mean that adopting sun-protective practices later in life is a waste. What it means is that you shouldn’t get discouraged if you’re now doing everything right and still seeing sun spots (or even a skin cancer) show up on your skin.

The sun protection you use today is giving your future skin its best opportunity to thrive.

I started to use sunscreen regularly at 27, just a few months ago! I wish to have started this habit earlier...

I’m 62, wear sunscreen everyday, big hats, long sleeves, a neck gaiter, and gloves. I do have to say, my skin looks great for my age.
My grandfather had a chunk, taken out of his cheek, due to skin cancer. So I think that affected me.

I'm in my late 40's...I started wearing sunscreen religiously on my face in my twenties but the problem was I neglected my neck and chest and hands. My face doesn't have any sun damage, but my neck, hands and chest all have sun damage and give away my age there. Wish I'd had the foresight!

The best type of sunlight is moonlight. I love going outside at night during a full moon so I can get some of that moonshine on me.

Yep ! You pay the consequences years later ! I’m 34 and I remember that being tan was a cool thing in the early 2000s ! Dermatologists were already warning us against skin damages/consequences.

I’m nearly 31 and this is the first winter wearing sunscreen. I live in the uk and everyone around me has been told the same thing “spf is only for summer”

Dr Sam Ellis, i am confused with this video. it says you wanted to be tan & that sun damage follows you for a lifetime. did you use sunscreen to get a tan or did you burn first with out suncreen, then tan? yrs ago while at the beach i used spf 100 several times in the sun all day long. the next day i was sun kissed - not burned. i am cool & fair skin tone, so if i do not use some form of sun protection, i. will. burn. so would i have sun damage as a result for a tan from using spf 100 all day, not being sun burned? will you please give me clarity? i would appreciate it thank you.

i think staying out of the sun fully is also not good for your health

Anyone else remember adding iodine to baby oil in their teens before laying out in the sun…? 🥵

So thankful now that my mom would slather my sister and I in sunscreen as kids. I can count on maybe one hand the times I got a bad sunburn (I’m a redhead too). Been wearing face spf since I was in high school… Now just have to incorporate my neck 😂

I get the whole skin cancer and sunscreen thing but I love to lay in the tanning bed because I like being tan, I do wear spf 50 on my face before I go in and a spf 30 the days I don’t go. I also moisturize my whole body every day. I am scared of skin cancer but I’m like but.. but.. but.. lol
