Thank you for saying that the clarinet is a jazz instrument. It is genuinely surprising how many people, even many band directors don't know that the clarinet was the original first reeded instrument in jazz bands.

I LOVE my oboe more than my clarinet too, and I don't even own it 😢. But playing it, in my opinion is much easier and it sounds better too.

Oboe is also much more fragile and more related (in pitch, also only kinda) to the flute.
The oboe requires a tremendously small amount of air but pretty high pressure to play, while the clarinet is more of a half and half or maybe even a bit more air than pressure.
Oboes are also often used to tune bands prior to performing (often may be done on the stage)
