Jon Stewart Squares Off With Bill O'Reilly About Common's White House Invitation

Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly have the Web riled up after their verbal bout over the White House's invitation to rapper Common to perform poetry. Stewart went on Fox News to point out the "selective outrage" Fox News often pedals when it fits a "narrative that suits them."
O'Reilly and other Fox News pundits had protested Common's invitation because the rapper defended convicted cop killer Assata Shakur in one of his songs. Stewart invoked the names of three other music superstars—Bono, Bruce Springsteen, and Bob Dylan— who had at one point defended convicted cop killers in their music and had been invited to the White house without any controversy.
This isn't the first time Stewart and O'Reilly have debated. Some might remember that on Stewart's first appearance on The O'Reilly Factor in 2004 he was tasked with defending his audience, whom O'Reilly had called left-leaning "stoned slackers."

"If it's not good for Don Imus, I don't know why it's good for us. If we don't like other people to degrade us, why are we degrading ourselves?"

At the South Florence High School library in Florence, S.C., Obama said of rappers, "They're degrading their sisters." He said that "There are a whole bunch of young rappers who look like us, who use the words that Don Imus does, who are on our radio stations." Senator Obama, 2007

Psh, I'm no "stoned slacker". I'm a stoned 21-year old with a bachelor's degree.

He talks about the idea the AIDS conspiracy theory ("disease manmade, to reprduce we afraid") and black people being the "cream of the planet" in his lyrics.
Like I said I don't know if he supports the melanin theory but it's likely he does.

This video is pointless without any audio footage from the interview. Come on Slate, get it together.
