172 is a legend! great for training and really reliable !! the DA40Ng is a great plane to upgrade to. I'd chose it over the 172 for daily flying now

C172 is a good starter aeroplane and is relatively reliable a good range/endurance

DA40NG is the Mercades of the Sky and offers an Austro diesel engine and is a medium price student aircraft

I absolutely love the DA40. I would rather have a cessna for 1 reason. I hate low wing, I prefer high wing because I like the view below.

Diamond DA 40 NG is superior to Cessna 172

Cessna 172 or 150, specifically analog. You can't learn aviation unless you have true instruments and old styles of navigation.

DA40 WILL WALK ON THE 172 ALL THE TIME WHILE THE OPERATIONAL COST IS LESS! THEN YA HAVE THE DA62 TO TALK ABOUT?
