People see the activism that has infiltrated their hobbies, and begin to notice a pattern. So when they see a black man lecturing Henry about how the women of his country are treated better, in a game set in medieval europe... people use their pattern recognition and get suspicious. That's why people got all up in arms over the character Musa, they liken it to a character that exists for the same reason as Yasuke in Assassin's Creed: Shadows. That is, they assume Musa exists only for "We wuz kangz".

If it makes sense and not feel forced, fine. However, Henry having ONLY options to be super careful and respectful, almost kneeling on the floor at thought of a possibility that musa might get offended, feels really heavy handed. People in general did NOT act like that. Not to mention the absolute Lecture about islam treating women better.

It's not that Vavra had pressure from the journalist Warhorse was bought out by Embracer for 33.2 mil and you take a look at their agenda page it lists all the DEI nonsense we know and love diversity, feminist, lgbtq+ injection. For example Embracer brought us such gems as Saints Row, and the one you pointed out Borderlands.
A lot of people got whiplash from Vavra himself he first denied the leaks which is kinda insane thing to do as they were all true and worse than what the leaks showed. So he's a liar the decisions for Musa are absolutely top down from Embracer. They were going to release the game as #based again just to rugpull chuddies halfway through the game so it couldn't be refunded this is false advertising and really dishonest.
I played the snot outta the first game this is a hard pass on principles I try not to support venture capitalist propaganda as much as I possibly can even though it's futile in the long run.

Its sad that after all these years of constant political correctness, social political progressivism, journalist talking about how misogynistic and racist we are and many other thinks people here still use the same old
"Stop overreacting bro, it is just an option bro, it is just a black muslim dude that virtue singal us about how you treat your women bro".

Mali was a literal slave state, which based its entire wealth on selling slaves and ivory to Muslim kingdoms.
I HIGHLY doubt women were treated better there.

Played Medieval Dynasty. No option to be bisexual or anything else than straight. No Malian Renaissance man either.

I can admit that I don’t like them adding optional same sex romance, but it is optional, and I will do my utmost to avoid that. I will forever love the KCD franchise despite this unfortunate addition.

I think a lot of people who get really angry about this were never going to play the game in the first place.

Making Henry Bi just breaks the canon of the first game makes no sense and ads nothing to the story. About the Musa guy as long as the quest is fun i don't mind it's not an historic documentary and it's not impossible in the universe of KCD and every character in the game is obviously not historic.

My gf pre-ordered it for a Valentine's gift. Had her cancel it. What a bummer.

BG3 was not hiding its intentions. It had used a goddamn gay druid shapeshifted bear scene in its promotion. Also game was not condescending in any meaningful way, it was a good game with a lot of choices. KCD will probably be the same in this regard, good game with freedom of choice.
But Vavra is being a dick, and a rug puller. After milking support from anti-dei community in the first game he now rug pulls them in a weird attempt to trying to please both camps.
Honestly I wish this game underperforms as a result. But it will sell fine.

Tbh if it is accurate for the time of medieval europe, that would be interesting, to show how it could be back then. Will i see it, nah. If this romance isvwhat will open the gates for good games i font mind

Haha that opening is such a great counter argument to this whole mess. Shame I didnt think of that scene earlier. Henry likes women, case closed.

But didnt french studants go to arabic countires and members of courts did travel between to contants way before 1403 for example the iraqi sultan haroon and rachid and charlamain of france where friendly so friendly and that haron made a clock for him, in the first game abacina aka ibn sina (medical scolar ) was mentioned and there was a side mission that required you to get his book, also arab sources even talk about travelling all the way up to norway and documanted viking culture so its not that far feched, yes a muslim man would have needed to be gaured being there, so him being in a war camp makes sense

Imagine if they released vanilla game without dei, and then sold gay dlc, and musa dlc separately for like 5$ each. :) I think embracer would be ultimately fine with such approach. Reddit would lose its marbles though.

I can honestly see Henry being a bit racist to Musa at first, like "OMG dude what the fuck why do you look like that." He can grow to understand and accept him later on through a quest or something, I'd be happy with that.

i don't think Musa being added for content is anything new. he's a much more likely appearance than sir Markvart von Aulitz, who was very much dead by the time the game takes place. or sir Hans Capon appearing to be around 18 years old when he irl was 15 at the time. this is nothing new from warhorse and it really does not matter too much. like you mentioned in the video, pattern recognition is also at play here. kcd is not an entirely 100% accurate history simulator, the accuracy, i believe, in this context refers to the daily life of people and society. it gives an idea of what medieval Bohemia was like with some liberties taken to keep the video game more entertaining. i don't think a single dark skinned man in a city as big as Kuttenberg distorts that, especially considering it is clear he will not be exempt from the treatment he would have gotten in real life. though, i do sort of agree the explanation of where he came from and who he is sounds strange. hopefully just badly worded.

Considering the Silk road was still active in the 14th century i think it would be impossible not to run into at least a few strange foreigners around that time so i dont really care about the black dude. I also think having a gay romance also really doesnt matter but i do understand the backlash. I would probably have the same reaction if microsoft or sony started changing the sexuality of classic characters they owned.

Yea this was not a good take man. It’s a RPG. They already explained Musa in great detail on why he’s there and as for Henry having this option well….it’s optional. You don’t have to do it. You can keep him straight if you want or you can make him chase the taboo…even he confirmed that the characters know that this was a forbidden sin. This game is not woke at all. It’s just an extra option. At the end of the day this is a RPG where you can shape your Henry how you want him to be which is what warhorse wanted from the beginning
