This ISLAND Was LOADED With FISH! Topwater Striped Bass Fishing!

Summertime fishing is in full swing on the Chesapeake Bay. The heat has really set in and the bite windows have been limited to early mornings and late evenings. Fish are scattered and holding tight to structure, but if you find them, they are usually willing to eat. The good news about fishing in low light conditions is that topwater lures work great. We have found a lot of fish at Poplar Island in July and they have been strictly wanting topwater lures. They have not been interested in any subsurface lures, but that okay because topwater fishing is a ton of fun! The fish have been very tight to the rock walls surrounding the island, so a cast as close to the rocks without getting snagged has been the ticket for getting big eats on the surface. Thanks for watching and make sure to subscribe to the channel!

Small paddle tails work awesome as well for this. The key is sending it directly to the rocks. These guys are giving away the summer secrets!!

Keep these great videos coming. Love each and every one them. Also great you giving us the location. Maybe you can make some more videos out of solomons or point lookout.
Thanks

In the 30 years that I’ve been fishing and eating out of the Chesapeake Bay I’ve never bled one of my fish. The beat has always been perfect, but I like my fish to taste a little fishY
