Google BigQuery is a data analysis service that can crunch through terabytes of data in a couple tens of seconds, even with complex SQL queries. It is one of the most used tools at Google internally which is why we made it available to all. We also published a scientific article explaining the algorithms involved ("Dremel: Interactive Analysis of Web-Scale Datasets").

This session goes through the algorithms explained in the paper in a simplified and hopefully accessible way.
