NYC mayor seeking waiver to hire brother for security job

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is seeking approval from city ethics officers to hire his brother as the head of his security detail. The new mayor has brought on his brother Bernard Adams, a former New York police officer who was most recently as the assistant director for parking at Virginia Commonwealth University, to serve as the executive director of mayoral security. The mayor’s office said Wednesday that it plans to submit paperwork this week seeking a waiver from the city Conflicts of Interest Board, an independent agency that oversees and enforces the city’s conflict of interest law.

Just about every one I know who's been interested in living/working in NYC has now (or for sometime already) has realized every thing that I had said to them before: "Really? Why? You know you say that now, but someday you're going to get fed up with the city for a number of reasons."
That is what I said to them. Now what I was really thinking was: "What the hell is wrong with you? You want to be in the middle of that liberal shithole? At least it had half a chance when Giuliani was mayor, but now it seems that it's at a point of no return. They keep replacing Democrats with other Democrats, and that goes nowhere but downward."

Quite a big jump from assistant college parking lot attendant to director of executive security. Plus, that job doesn't even exist it will have to be created for him. I had big hopes for Adams when he was running, but they are dwindling rapidly, he looks like he is just going to be another scam artist.
