I just wanna take a moment, and appreciate all this guy does for a second. He gives amazing vocal and ear training for FREE. And he dosent necessarily get compensation. Thanks to him, so many people have the ability to hone there voice, and that’s something I and many others, are extremely thankful for. Thank you Jacob, and keep up the hard work

I was depressed at first, but after recognising so many people do not go well in the comments, it makes me feel better :D

The first time I did this it was kinda hard but the second time around I did something different. The key (pun intended) is to know what C sounds like (since it's the base note or Do), then once a new note is played go back to C (hum or sing) and see how far the new note is from C and that'll tell you what's the new note. The most important note to know is C, all the other notes are related to it.

I always recognize the c note, the d and e and a almost all the time and I have some troubles with the f, g and b! Thanks for the video it's really helpful!

Helpful tip: once the key is played, hold it in your mind/hum it, then you hum the whole scale starting at C and stops when it fits with the key

Wanted to see how my ear was developing after four months of playing uke. Was expecting to fail terribly since my musical cousin always teased me about being tone deaf, but I got most of them right. Thank you!

For some reason, I find it harder to distinguish the higher notes. Is that a common thing or am I just weird?

C - feels like completion
D & A - feels like about to complete
F - little weird negative sound and little out of sync comparing other notes.
E - If it sound like a base tone and not C or D then it's E.
G - not able to connect with it.

If you can find any other connection with the notes. Please feel free to add it down in the comments. It will be helpful for others as well!

This video has taught me that I need to spend some time trying to memorize the sounds of these notes. Thank you. I've got work to do. lol... :)

That C at 1:57 really threw me off I wasn't expecting the octave to be there

If I say the letter that instantly comes to mind the moment I hear it (without thinking), I get it right. If I spend more than a second thinking, then it becomes more of an 80% chance where I'm off by a semitone. I think that we hear these tones all the time and we already defined the tone subconsciously, and so part of getting it right requires some internal confidence.

Great! I've started practicing ear training since two days. This is my first day with this excercise. I'm actually surprised to see that I've improved! Thanks to you for helping me find that out ❤️
