The 360-degree articulation of its joints is impressive. To me, it's not unsettling at all. Envision the commercial, industrial, and eventual consumer applications for such a versatile robot. I believe there's no need for humanoid robots to be constrained by the same range of motion as humans.

From a utility standpoint it’s probably useful that it can turn 360, imagine it moves boxes from one shelf to another behind and all it has to do is rotate instead of stepping around to turn. Presentation was hilarious, but its definitely a flex.

the fact they managed to get a humanoid robot to trigger uncanny valley by movement alone is really impressive

The range of motion puts it squarely in uncanny valley despite the lack of a face. Still necessary for it to be good at a wider range of tasks

That’s actually a very intuitive way of standing up from flat ground. It only looks weird because we’re not used to a humanoid shape being able to move like that.
