The rainbow-colored owl in the thumbnail is photoshopped. It's a northern saw-whet owl, but they are not all colorful and rainbow. They are actually camouflaged brown like most owl species. The photoshopped rainbow owl in the thumbnail is just to make the video more attractive and appealing. Pictures like that have gone viral on the internet and people think it's real 🙄 But they're still so beautiful in their natural camouflage, they have adorable faces.

Owls have always been a favorite. As a child visiting my grandmother farm it was intriguing to see Barn Owl in the water house. Never forgot the experience and to this day I collect owl figurines. Thank you very the video.

The Spotted Wood owl DOES have ears. It just DOES NOT have the feathered EAR TUFTS. There a definite distinction between "totally earless" and "doesn't have ear TUFTS".
The Long Eared owl is a real misnomer too! ALL OWLS HAVE EARS. What you see on tops of their heads are just "TUFTS" of feathers. Owls ears are one each side of their head, behind the eyes. And one ear sits higher than the other to be able to better locate sounds. Also if you move feathers aside and look in an owl ear you can usually see the "back" of the eye ball.
