Just found your channel Mike. You have some cool content I’ll be checking out.
About 30 years ago I built my first bench. Around 22 years ago I needed another bench and didn’t have time to build one so I went to my local Woodcraft… I saw the owner (at that time) and told him what I was looking for which was a huge bench. He showed me the Sjoberg Elite 2500 with an SM08 cabinet and it was something like $4500… I told him that was out of my price range… He walked me to the back of the store and showed me one on a pallet. He said he had ordered it for a customer who backed out of it. He sold it to me at a substantial discount. They loaded it on my truck and I assembled it from the bed of the truck and borrowed my neighbors engine hoist to put the top on by myself. If I remember correctly it’s near 500 lbs total and is 99 inches long. I don’t think they sell it anymore. At least in the U.S… I think now it’s the Sjoberg Elite 2500C which comes with an extension.
It still looks great and will be available for my kids, grandkids or great grandkids. Hopefully I’ll still be around to see great grandkids 😊

Sjöbergs benches are not bad and this probably suits your purpose as you prefer a light movable bench, but I wouldn't consider them "nice". I personally prefer traditional woodworking and to me, buying a new workbench doesn't fit the image.
A year seems to have gone by. What decision did you come to?

I'm kind of glad that you're keeping the bench because I'd want it if you didn't keep it, but I couldn't afford it when you put it on Craig's list. Oh well.

If you spend $1900 on a beechwood bench of this size and weight....stop woodworking right now.
