Higgs Boson Confirmed; CERN Discovery Passes Test

Stop me if you've heard this one: how many scientists does it take to author a study on the Higgs boson particle? Around 6,000.

Two articles by the teams at CERN, about 30 pages each, include 19 pages of single-spaced text with roughly 6,000 names of researchers who peer-reviewed the results of the experiments, making the discovery of the elusive God particle valid.

The papers conclude there is a one-in-300-million chance that the Higgs does not exist, thereby validating the theory on why elementary particles have mass.

Particle physicist Peter Higgs first predicted the particle in 1964. So you might say the 48-year hunt for the God particle reached biblical proportions.

He was wrong. The author said in response to people believing the existence of the god particle was proof in god "I wish I'd called it the god damn particle." It got it's name for the reasons I pointed out earlier.

It was dubbed the god particle by an author long befor any strong evidence arose in support of its existance. This was the reason for its name. There was as little evidence for the higgs boson as there was for god.

No GPS is important same computer. I dont see any importance in Higgs. Its another sub atomic particle. Another from...many.
Tell me what this will change? We have far more important problems to tackle like cold/hot fusion, antigravity, ending of oil.
Will Higgs replace oil or make free energy to all? I dont think so.
And correct me if im wrong but GPS was invented thanks to theory of relativity not particle physics. Time is not particle right? is?
