So how does the guy in the video escape?
Well, there’s a clever trick!

Before wrapping, one end must be longer than the other, like this.
Then, the stick goes in the middle, and the wrapping looks the same as before.

The secret is in the final move!
Look closely—while covering with their hands, the short end stays still, but the long end loops around once more.

This small switch changes everything!
