Intuitively it feels like an instrument with a huge potential if you are willing to put a lot of hours into learning how to use/tweak/hack it.

I can see this being useful. But if you have your own overarching sound design vision, you'll probably be able to use the tools you already have to get these results. Might take you a bit longer but (a) it'll be YOUR vision and not BT's (no disrespect to the guy, he's an amazing producer) and (b) you'll have a longer journey getting to your destination, which means you'll learn more, have more happy accidents, and you'll be able to hold your own making generic tools work together. Still going to check this out though, because the GUI is my favourite shade of blue :)

I personally feel like that if more people actually knew what this thing was doing under the hood they would truly understand the potential BreakTweaker has. Link me to another drum machine that can layer 4/4 and 7/8 metre together whilst simultaniously generating exponential and logarithmic granular edits on what ever beats you wish. Yes I've got Reaktor and the Twisted Tools gear-no it can't do what BreakTweaker can. BT is truly a genius and pioneer, people need to do a little more research before they call it 'a toy.'

Downloaded the demo and already using the 10 day trial in a tune (its not dubstep). Easy to suss out the sequencer/micro edit...haven't checked the included samples out as I am not into dubstep, but there might be something worth checking out later.
First impressions: Very usable, controlled editing. Its actually very precise and I've got on with recording stuff from it, without reading the manual.
As with all things, use it in moderation here and there to add some nice ghost/glitch rolls to beats, or do the easy "bouncing ball" trigger on vox...whatever. Can't fault it really, its a unique tool. Whether its going to be used to "make noise" or "make music" is up to the person using it. I am not one to hate on unique tools, before trying them out my self.

very nice! ..But i don't see any ''swing'' options... and is it possible to play the pitches/notes with midi? if these 2 thing are there i will get this 4 sure..

aww i was hoping this would be a Geist killer. Can you load your own drum samples? Are there included patterns etc?
