I'm fortunate to have gone to a school that taught this. I'm 70 but went to a highly diverse school and each week we were taught history on different ethnic groups and religious groups. I wish schools would do this now because it brought so much pride and respect for each other.

I am a historian (BA and MA in History)who taught this information in my high school classes and in the college level in the Baltimore City high schools and as a Professor at Morgan State University. Now I am a retired educator; so I am so pleased to see much African /Black American History being presented, even on this medium.

I'm Piegan Blackfoot
Tsiikohtaahsi'tsihp iihtootaaatsiiyo'p ... I'm very happy about the reason we've come here, greetings.
My ancestors have told this story and how many tribes, including ours, helped hide and protect as so many of us knew the horrors of slavery. We're so proud to call you family.

I had the honor and privilege to serve in Vietnam with black soldiers who were among the bravest and most honorable men I ever served with. After more than 50 years, I am still amazed at what they did, knowing the moment they stepped off the plane back in the US, they were doomed to second-class citizenship.
