I've only been thinking of learning coding. At 77 I have a bit of time. But this was informative. My Last foray into it was when Dos was king. On a radio shack trs80.
Before many of you were born.

1. Use a programming lang you already know to relate a new programming lang. Use existing knowledge to your dvantage.
NodeJS Highly asynchronous programming lang.
2. Fill your knowledge gaps. Don't go deep. Understand the quick overview tutorials.
3. Get comfortable with the syntax.
4. Complete a simple project end to end. You will get stuck a lot. But here you will learn most.
5. The learning never stops. Keep learning.
